DTM is proud to be serving the real estate industry for 40-years.

It all started 40-years ago today when my Dad, Joseph C. Montesano, incorporated DTM Drafting & Consulting Services, Inc.

With his entrepreneurial spirit (before that word was even popular) and a heck of a lot of elevator knowledge, he started off on an amazing adventure.

40-years later, and now with the third generation of family setting the course, the future is bright and elevating.

With all the DTM family and team members’ support, we look forward to providing unsurpassed vertical transportation system consulting services to our friends in the real estate industry for the next 40 years and beyond.

Looking forward to celebrating future milestones together.

DTM 40th Party

Congratulations to DTM Inc., 40 years in business, which is a great accomplishment during these crazy times.
At the age of 50, instead of looking to retire, my parents had the courage and insight to start a “New” business.
I could not be more proud or thankful. My family and I have enjoyed working and growing the family business,
With the support of our wonderful clients turned Friends. Thank you to all our friends and family that have supported us all these years. We are looking forward to celebrating our 40th Anniversary with all of you.
— Susan Warr, CFO/Treasurer on celebrating DTM Inc.’s 40th Anniversary.

I am humbled to have been a part of so many incredible milestones in DTM’s history. Joseph took a great risk in 1982, but he made a wonderful investment for his family.

There were no shortcuts. There was never a Sunday dinner or holiday, without discussing elevators (Still Aren’t.) Joseph’s dedication to his customers were second only to his love of family. Some of my fondest memories are sitting in Joe’s office doing a traffic study, with pen and paper, while my oldest son, Joe’s Great-Grandson, was there to visit.

We strive to practice those values Joseph instilled, to this day. Thank you to our dedicated employees, family, and friends, and to our wonderful clients.
— Brayan Casas, Vice President on celebrating DTM Inc.’s 40th Anniversary

My earliest memories of working at DTM are when my cousins and I would sort files and organize all the drawings. On occasion, my grandfather, Joseph Montesano would take me into the city for client meetings and I was able to experience what he does on a daily basis. I was so proud then and am even more proud to see where we are today.

I am so grateful to be growing in the family business. It is so rewarding to learn from my father, Nicholas Montesano and all the knowledge he has gained being in the vertical transportation industry for over 40 years! As the world changes on a daily basis, DTM has always maintained the highest quality of service for our clients which was the foundation of what my grandfather and father built.

I am very thankful for the hard work and dedication that all our family, friends and clients have contributed to DTM over the last 40 years. We are looking forward to continuing this family legacy in the Vertical Transportation Industry!
— Matthew Montesano, Operations Manager on celebrating DTM Inc.’s 40th Anniversary

I remember when my father in-law, Joseph Montesano, had the vision to begin an elevator consulting business. He began this venture in the basement of his home and now 40 years later, DTM has grown into two locations with projects world-wide. My father in-law mentored his son, my husband, Nick Montesano, who is the CEO/President of this well-established company which has grown to many levels of success in the elevator consulting industry. I am proud that my two sons, Matthew & Michael are a part of DTM and look forward to watch this next generation continue on successfully. I personally would like to thank all the DTM team many of whom have been with us for a very long time, our clients, friends and family who have supported us throughout our 40 years. Congratulations and Cheers.
— Noreen Montesano, on celebrating DTM Inc.’s 40th Anniversary

I would like to congratulate Nick Montesano, Susan Warr, and family on DTM Inc.’s 40th year in business. It has been a great honor to have been a part of DTM’s success for the past 12 years. After working for a large city agency for a majority of my career, working for such a family-oriented company has been a wonderful and welcoming experience, and they have made me feel like a part of the family.

I would like to thank the employees, past and present, (many of which I am proud to call friends) for helping ensure DTM’s continued success for all of these years. They have also been an integral part in the first-class service that DTM has been known for providing. I would also like to thank our friends and clients for their continued support through all of these years and for many more years to come.
— Michael Mancuso, Field Operations Manager on celebrating DTM Inc.’s 40th Anniversary

With 2021 being the 40th Anniversary of DTM and this also being my 20th year with the company I will tell you what the company means to me; caring. The same caring for their staff translates to caring for their clients. I have watched them grow and nurture young people who started as part timers after school, to going on to college and continuing as full time employees. Some have moved on, becoming teachers or joining the FDNY, but they were encouraged and supported by DTM the whole way. The ones who are still here have grown into operations managers and project managers and support staff and are continuing their education in the work place. Some have families of their own after starting here as kids. It is a remarkable environment for growth and it’s all because of principles set up by Joseph Montesano and family 40 years ago.
— Brian Sherman, Code Compliance Manager on celebrating DTM Inc.’s 40th Anniversary

Congratulations to the whole DTM Inc. family for 40 successful years in business. As a teenager, I worked at DTM during summers to have extra money to go out with friends, buy clothes, etc. At the time, I would perform menial tasks which I thought did not have any impact on how the company would operate. It was Joe Montesano (JCM) himself who told me that any job I was doing was important. Taking the garbage out every night showed cleanliness in the workspace, mailing out evaluations and reports on time showed our clients how important their time was to us, and how filing paperwork correctly not only helped my fellow employees, but it showed uniformity. I have learned over the years that no task is too small and I continue to instill these practices in my work ethic today.

I am thankful for having had the opportunity to grow within this company. Going from a “Guy Friday” to a project manager is one of my greatest achievements, and I could not have done it without the help and support of my DTM family. Thank you to our friends and clients for supporting us through all of these years. Last but not least, I would like to thank my coworkers, past and present, for not only helping expand my knowledge of the industry, but for their hard work which has helped continue the success of DTM.
— Michael Casas, Project Manager on celebrating DTM Inc.’s 40th Anniversary

It has been a most interesting experience, to say the least working at DTM over the past 22 years, and a privilege to contribute to an exceptional family business and a fascinating industry.

As a family member I take great pride in providing the type of personalized and dedicated service that was taught to me by my mentor and company founder Joseph Montesano. It is surely a challenge to live up to the precedent that was set by my uncle but I welcome it in on a daily basis. I have worked many jobs in my lifetime but I found a home at DTM.

I have great confidence that the next generation of DTM family members and employees will continue the great tradition of exceptional service for many years to come started by Joseph 40 years ago.
— Joseph Cariello, Engineering Manager on celebrating DTM Inc.’s 40th Anniversary

It has been a pleasure for me to be with DTM for the last 30 years and to have witnessed its tremendous growth and success during that time. It has been a true blessing for me as well to have worked with Joseph Montesano, DTM’s founder and family patriarch, for so many years. Joe established a strong and loving foundation for the business, a foundation his son Nick and daughter Susan have continued to build on and achieve a level of success Joe would be extremely proud of. The gratitude I have for DTM, my coworkers and clients is beyond what words can express. All I can say is THANK YOU!
— Martha Rodriguez, Drafting Department on celebrating DTM Inc.’s 40th Anniversary

Congratulations to Nick , Susan and everyone at DTM for 40 years, I’m proud to be a part of the DTM team.

In my time at DTM there have been many changes in the elevator industry, in the technology as well as safety codes. We have always been on the cutting edge of many of these changes and the staff encouraged to continue our education and understanding.

One thing that hasn’t changed is DTM’s commitment to providing our clients the best possible service. Whether it is a multicar commercial or a single car residential building, DTM strives to provide our clients with the best options to suit their individual needs.

DTM is a family business but there is nothing small about it. Thanks for letting me be a part of it.

Here’s to many more years of success!
— Harold Coppola, Field Operations on celebrating DTM Inc.’s 40th Anniversary
